Free Translation

I HAVE DEBTS TO SOMEONE ELSE

I have debts to someone else, but not to Michalou,
That one I leave for more normal madmen,
so as to repel from my life this pawn,
I must devoted it (my life) to a new Zephyr.

Sweet breeze blow and take me smoothly,
I can hear my heart speaking to you softly,
my thoughts for you are not cautious,
they became flames in the night that burn permanently.

I have debts to someone else, but not to Michalou,
I owe to myself two unknown sea shores,
to your twin beaches I owe my lips,
don’t listen to me serenely, I want you as my friend.

Michalou = From old Greek proverbial expression "I owe to Michalou", meaning, "I'm not in my right mind, I'm getting crazy".
Michalou was an old woman from Corinth, the owner of a taverna, and apparently the whole town used to owe money to her for allowing them to drink on "credit".
