RECALLING
AVRAWEDNESDAY AFTERNOON
26/9/2018
2 PRETTY SOON
I don’t know what the hell I can remember,
First of all this here and now, this dim September,
Then I let my recollections go back far,
Summers hot, and winters mild, and all the seasons,
Out and in in private rooms and private prisons,
Or beach bumming down by every sea-side bar.
There is nothing that I could portray as "solid",
Just full moons, observed by people somehow stolid,
More interested watching soccer, the world cup,
With their backs turned to the south, for television,
Which obscured their brains, blinding all their vision,
I just thought, they may be having a short nap.
What the hell, I'm also sleeping, ain't that clever?
For I'm dreaming and this dream will last for ever,
Watching you, having a swim in the full moon,
Did it happen? I'm not sure, the night was steamy,
We were stone and the galaxies were creamy,
But I felt you and you felt me pretty soon.
