AUGUST FULL MOON
AVRA SATURDAY early afternoon

HARD ACT TO FOLLOW
Tonight maybe I won't play a gig,
but still I'll dance a susta or a jig,
when I'm alone on this deserted shore,
the moonlight will caress me as I dance,
the water will refresh me if by chance,
I jump into the sea like times before.
This night in August five years ago,
I thought I'll give it just another go,
but I was picked, so all I did was poke,
a wiser man tonight, or so I hope,
with no one would I share my brainy dope,
I'll role my joint and alone I'll smoke.
And when the morning comes I'll be alright,
knowing that through this uneventful night,
I was with you in thought, in dream, in fact,
this is the plan, but to materialise,
I must recall the colour of your eyes,
your show to follow, seems the hardest act.
